In The Mood for Home: Quiet Luxury, Layered With Love

Carolina Timm

Something magic happens when a space feels just right.

Not that it’s perfect. Not that it’s Instagram curated. It just feels like it’s meant to be.

For us it’s the soft morning light spilling in over an Ecuadorian recycled blanket or sheepskin couch throw on the leather couch. The wood wick flicker of candle.. That satisfying morning flat white warming our hands, staring out into nature, quietening the chaos as we prepare for the day ahead.

We have been thinking a lot lately about what it is that makes a home feel like home. Not in the Pinterest-board kind of way (though we do love a good mood board), but in that ‘this is my sanctuary’ space kind of way.

We believe it’s all in the layers. The lighting. The textures. The mood. They all make a house feel like a warm and welcoming home…

Mood Matters

It all starts with lighting…

We are all about the soft glow. Beautiful lamps (have you seen the new modern silver metal lamps just added to our collection!), our Eva Solo flickering tea lights, and the subtle scent of our pure hand made incense sticks from Altasphere Melbourne wafting through the air. This is lighting and scent as mood, not just function. We are forever lighting candles. Not just for special occasions – but for Tuesday nights and the early mornings. Our edit of luxe, soy based, wood wicked candles are part fragrance, part ritual. A scented soundtrack for your space. Right now, we’re especially loving the Hutwood Wood Sage & Sea Salt candle – it’s fresh, grounding, and a little bit coastal.

Texture is the secret

One of my early childhood memories is of a super soft blanket with satin piping that I adored. I would wrap myself in it as I read books to all my dolls and soft toys (including the star attraction ‘Humphrey Bear’). They were all tucked in neatly either side of me and listened to my every word (or so I thought). That feeling of comfort, of being surrounded by warmth and childhood imagination, has stayed with me.

Comfort isn’t just a vibe – it’s tactile.

The soft weave of an Ecuadorian recycled blanket. The relaxed plushness of a feather-filled Scandinavian-inspired cushion. The grounding weight of a rug that says: put your feet up.

Adding one or two thoughtfully chosen pieces can instantly change the entire tone of a room. A Mongolian sheepskin throw tossed over a chair? Instant cosiness. The Diamante Black + White sustainable blanket thrown over the bed? Bold, timeless, and beautifully tactile. Eva Solo tea lights placed on the coffee table? Pure atmosphere.

We curate pieces that speak a Scandinavian design language – clean lines, muted tones, natural fibres – but with an undercurrent of warmth. Nothing clinical. Everything is inviting.

After all, our homes should feel like a warm hug.

Timeless over trends

You’ll notice we don’t chase trends. We chase the feeling. Mood. Longevity. We hunt for pieces that intend to outlive seasons and will become treasures.

Because let’s be honest: life is chaotic enough without constantly reinventing your living spaces. Instead, we lean into quiet luxury. Understated beauty. Functional pieces to add to your existing space.

What we are loving right now

Why it matters

Creating a home is not about perfection. It’s about intention.

At Hunted + Co, we believe in pieces that bring both beauty and function. That feel good, do good, and last. We believe in homes that look lived-in, not staged. That tells the stories of those that live there. That ultimately feels like you are home, that feels like you belong.

So if you’re nesting, reviving, or just lighting a candle to soften the day… welcome.

You’re in the right place.
