Frequently Asked Questions

What is the heat pack filled with?

It is filled with Australian wheat, inside a removable black cotton cover.

Can I use it cold as well as warm?

Yes. It is suitable for the microwave and the freezer, so you can warm it or chill it.

How do I heat it?

Heat it gently in the microwave in short intervals rather than one long go. Thurlby Herb Farm does not publish heating times, so go slowly. Many people also place a cup of water in the microwave alongside a wheat pack to help stop it drying out. This is general advice for wheat packs, not a Thurlby instruction.

How do I clean it?

Take the insert out of the cover first, then spot clean the cover with a cool damp cloth.

Where does the sandalwood scent come from?

The scent comes from sandalwood, the wood, used in this Thurlby Herb Farm heat pack.

Is it a good gift?

It suits anyone who spends their days on their feet or at a desk, and it arrives ready to give. Add a personal note at checkout.

What pairs well with this?

Alta Essential Oil Lavender is a simple, pure scent for the same quiet hour. Alta Unwind Incense Sticks set the room before you sit down. The Altasphere Silk Spa Eye Mask in Moonstone Grey finishes the evening.
